The Sinner’s Survival Guide
We Christians should avoid sin – but we are fallen souls and we live in an imperfect world where sin abounds. We sinned yesterday, we sinned today and we will sin tomorrow. So what are we to do? Well, if we have sinned, it gives God the opportunity to turn its impact on us into something good. I too am a sinner; but at least I’m in good company – heck, everyone I know is a sinner too, and like everyone else, I struggled with sin for most of my life. I tried to figure out sin but I could not, so I read books, took religion classes, talked to priests, pastors, deacons and a whole bunch of other sinners and I found out two things:
A) No one had a comforting answer
B) We are all in the same boat (and we are all sea sick).
From John 3:16 to Revelation 3:16
In John 3:16, God sends His only Son to die on the cross to redeem us; but in Revelation 3:16 God “vomits out the lukewarm sinner”. Wow! How do we go from God’s beloved – to God’s vomit? More importantly; how do we avoid this? This book gives some helpful advice on gaining and retaining a close personal relationship with God. Read about prayer vs. worship vs. believes, who to pray to (Father? Son? Holy Spirit?) and get advice on living out a Christian life.
From Heathen to Healer
Does God still heal? Well, in the last six years, I’ve watched Him heal a thousand people – and even more surprisingly He used a heathen like me to do it, so, yes, I think God still heals.
There are a lot of books out there that say He does; then again, there are the skeptics who say He doesn’t. When I wrote this book, I did so not to convince people one way or the other from a Biblical or theological standpoint; I just wrote down the facts I observed so that people could read them and decide for themselves. In essence, this book is a written testimony of my ministry work. It is the closest I can get you to being with me in the hospitals, prisons and rehab facilities where I meet the people who need God the most.
If you believe God heals, I think you’ll like this book and the ninety plus stories herein. If you don’t, you probably will not know what think because these stores are, well, miraculous and maybe you aren’t ready for that kind of paradigm shift in your thinking. But, if you are unsure, I think you’ll be a believer by chapter five.
